Today is promotion day. Where each higher schooler gets promoted to the next year. Today we will have some new freshmen and some graduating seniors will move on. Welcome Freshmen!

Today in second service at church Chris Twogood was baptisted in to His kingdom.

Here is some information for the Mexico trip February 20-22, 2009 – We will be leaving from the church parking lot at 11am on the 20th and arrive back between 4pm and 7pm on the 22nd.

Purpose: God’s followers are commanded to fast and pray. We will use our fast time to broaden our
perspective of God’s Mission on a global scale, to allow us to empathize with the world’s poverty, and to reflect on our role in God’s program World-wide.

Program: For a 24 hour period, the day before Thanksgiving, we will eat nothing and drink only water while we will pray, sing, have Bible Study, watch some eye-opening movies* about missions and the world’s spiritual condition, and seek the Lord through hunger and prayer. We will be staying at the church for that 24 hours so that we can hold each other accountable, so we can have as much time together as possible, and because it’s fun (boys and girls will obviously be in separate rooms over-night.)

The fast will start at 6pm Tuesday, November 25th and will go until 6pm Wednesday, November 26th when we will eat dinner together (Pick up time Wed. 7:00pm). There is no cost to participate in this event, however, please sign up if you would like to come so we have an idea as to the number of participants. Check with your parents to make sure not eating for a day is okay!

Paraphernalia: Please bring a Bible, a pen, a comfortable chair (recliners are okay), modest sleeping clothes, sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, a water bottle, and snacks (just kidding about the snacks).
